Kelly Karr, FNP, PMHNP-BC

I am a board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP), as well as a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Practitioner (PMHNP) licensed to practice in the state of Illinois. I have been a FNP since 2015 (St. Francis College of Nursing), and a Registered Nurse (RN) since 2008 with various past nursing experiences both inpatient and outpatient in areas including cardiac stepdown, the emergency department, internal medicine, and urgent care. During the pandemic, I decided to go back to school to obtain my PMHNP (Southern Illinois University Edwardsville) after seeing an increased need for mental health providers and extensive wait times to be seen. I genuinely love what I do and the patients I see. I currently have patients ages 5 through 85 with diagnoses including anxiety, ADHD, bipolar, depression, eating disorders, oppositional defiance disorder, and substance abuse issues amongst other diagnoses.
I take pride in making appointments a desirable experience for anyone and everyone, as seeking mental healthcare can be uncomfortable. Often, seeking mental healthcare is avoided due to negative stigma or poor past experiences. I am easy to talk to, a good listener, and I can guarantee you that your concerns will be heard. I will be happy to give recommendations and we can come up with a treatment plan that sounds like the best fit for you or your family member using the best options available. Feel free to make an appointment, I would be honored to work with you and help you resume living your life to the fullest.
